Bidirectional propagation method for analysis of reflection on radio networks

    Get PDF
In this paper, our aim is to evaluate and analyze two propagation methods over mobile IPv6 networks which are bidirectional tunneling and routing optimization and both deliver a packet from a correspondent node to the mobile node and vice versa via specific tunnel. To this end we propose a mobile IPv6 scenario by including real-time applications such as video- conferencing. As a result of the evaluation, routing optimization method reduces end-to-end delay and packet delay variation because the number of packets experience tunneling is reduced by this method. This results in increasing network performance

Data Envelopment Analysis (Dea) approach In efficiency transport manufacturing industry in Malaysia

    Get PDF
The objective of this study was to measure of technical efficiency, transport manufacturing industry in Malaysia score using the data envelopment analysis (DEA) from 2005 to 2010. The efficiency score analysis used only two inputs, i.e., capital and labor and one output i.e., total of sales. The results shown that the average efficiency score of the Banker, Charnes, Cooper - Variable Returns to Scale (BCC-VRS) model is higher than the Charnes, Cooper, Rhodes - Constant Return to Scale (CCR-CRS) model. Based on the BCC-VRS model, the average efficiency score was at a moderate level and only four sub-industry that recorded an average efficiency score more than 0.50 percent during the period study. The implication of this result suggests that the transport manufacturing industry needs to increase investment, especially in human capital such as employee training, increase communication expenses such as ICT and carry out joint ventures as well as research and development activities to enhance industry efficiency

    Quality Management System In Construction

This paper describes the Quality Management System (QMS) concept and its application in the construction industry. A misunderstanding among the construction players on the QMS concept has become the stumbling block for its successful implementation

Industrial structure and concentration in Malaysian manufacturing industry

    Get PDF
The study uses econometric analysis; the least square method is used to determine factors that influence changes in the level of concentration of the 103 Malaysian manufacturing industries. The result shows that the concentration ratio of the Malaysian industries are rather high when compared with those in most other countries. At the same time our analysis reveals that competition in certain sectors of the Malaysian manufacturing industry have increased over time. Most importantly, the analysis supports the hypothesis that economies of scale are the major source of concentration. Other variables use in determining the industrial concentration is barriers to entry, the size of industry and foreign ownership

Research on heteregeneous data for recognizing threat

The information increasingly large of volume dataset and multidimensional data has grown rapidly in recent years. Inter-related and update information from security communities or vendor network security has present of content vulnerability and patching bug from new attack (pattern) methods. It given a collection of datasets, we were asked to examine a sample of such data and look for pattern which may exist between certain pattern methods over time. There are several challenges, including handling dynamic data, sparse data, incomplete data, uncertain data, and semistructured/unstructured data. In this paper, we are addressing these challenges and using data mining approach to collecting scattered information in routine update regularly from provider or security community

An overview on audio steganography techniques

    Get PDF
Steganography is a form of security technique through obscurity; the science and art of hiding the existence of a message between sender and intended recipient. Steganography has been used to hide secret messages in various types of files, including digital images, audio and video. The three most important parameters for audio steganography are imperceptibility, payload (bit rate or capacity), and robustness. Any technique which tries to improve the payload or robustness should preserve imperceptibility. The noise which is introduced due to bit modification would limit payload. This paper presents a categorization of information hiding techniques and overviews those techniques that intend to improve payload and imperceptibility

LEADERSHIP: HOW TO BE AN EFFECTIVE MANAGER

The purpose of this paper is to examine effective managers Malaysian leadership. The objective was investigated on how mangers can have better understanding of leadership and to use it to their advantage. In addition, this paper also examined to what extant Malaysian leadership ‘managers reflect the level of their social interaction, preference for gathering data, preference for decision-making, and style of making decisions. Finally, it identified several ways on how effective managers could reduce the gap between the difference in their leader to capitalize the strength of their counterparts in order to enhance organization performance and at the same time grasp new ideas so that it could benefit both sides. This study attempted to find out the effect of functional and behavioral competences on the leadership effectiveness in relation to managers in the construction industry in the Penang and Butterworth states in Malaysia. The finding has shown that all managers surveyed basically agreed that IT knowledge and the business knowledge are the most crucial competences that should be acquired to become an effective manager in the construction industry. On the other hand intraprofessional knowledge of behavioural competences was found to be the most important for an effective manager..Leadership, An effective manager, Construction industry, Malaysia.

An Empirical Investigation into the Matching Problems among Game Theoretically Coordinating Parties in a Virtual Organization

    Get PDF
Virtual organization emerged as a highly flexible structure in response to the rapidly changing environment of 20th century. This organization consists of independently working parties that combine their best possible resources to exploit the emerging market opportunities. There are no formal control and coordination mechanisms employed by the classical hierarchical structures. Parties, therefore, manage their dependencies on each other through mutual understanding and trust. Mathematician John Nash, having significant contributions in Game Theory suggests that in every non-cooperative game there is at least one equilibrium point. At this point, according to him, every strategy of the player represents a response to the others’ strategies. Such equilibria could exist in a virtual organization, at which parties coordinate which each other to optimize their performance. Coordination/Matching problems are likely to arise among game theoretically coordinating parties in a virtual organization, mainly due to lack of binding agreements. By identifying and resolving these matching problems, virtual organizations could achieve efficiency and better coordination among parties.Virtual organization, Game theory, Matching problems, Coordination
